    May Parker gets shot on her midnight trip to the local corner store for ice cream.
    Peter now had no living relatives left, and now he truly knew that nothing is worth living for. But then Tony Stark takes him in, with no hesitation of adopting him on the spot.

    Ever since then, things go smoothly. Tony and Peter get closer than ever, and Peter even starts to call him dad (but only around the people he is close to, like Pepper and Rhodey, because no one can know that Peter is adopted by Tony). Actually, its perfect; Peter finally has a family and life. School ends as well, and summer finally arrives after a long wait.

    Then the Avengers are pardoned, and Tony decides to house them in the tower with himself and Peter; basically opening his private life to a bunch of traitors. But it's fine, he wants them back; he wants his old family back so much. Things only go haywire after that.

    “Sorry…Who are you?” Shane builds up the courage to ask when he knows they’re alone again. The man’s piercing eye contact is making him squirm a little, but it’s not unwanted. It makes Shane's stomach flip actually. 

    “I am Ilya” 

    “Ilyaaaaa.” He tests the name out, it feels right. Familiar. He lets out a small giggle at how ridiculous he must sound right now. 

    The man’s eyes, Ilya’s eyes, soften and once again Shane feels his heart speed up.

    “You’re really handsome” Shane blurts, unable to filter his words. He quickly slaps his hands over his own mouth. He can definitely feel the blush creeping up his neck. 

    or, Shane wakes up from wisdom tooth surgery confused and unable to recognize his hot husband.

    Troy Barrett comes to Ottawa wanting stability. He tells himself he wants the team, the routine, the structure, the safety of fitting in without needing too much from anyone. This is his clean start, and he needs to do whatever it takes to keep it.

    What he finds instead is Shane Hollander, amazing perfect Shane Hollander, and the uncomfortable realisation that the thing he’s been trying hardest not to want might be the only thing that actually feels like what he needs.

    As lines blur and tempers rise, Troy learns the hard way that wanting to belong can turn into wanting to keep, and that some things aren’t up for negotiation, especially when there’s a Russian captain who’s already decided what’s not on offer.

    The moment he says Shane Hollander’s name, the locker room goes quiet, and Troy knows he’s crossed a line he didn’t fully understand.
