He slides a finger across one of them, barely brushing the mechanism but still getting to see Jabber's shiver like he can really and truly feel it. And it suddenly occurs to Zanka that maybe he can feel it.
Unlike him and Lovely, who work together in tandem, but can be separated at any point (for better or for worse), in a fight Mankira is well and truly part of Jabber. Anything he is exposed to, fuels her. So, it stands to reason that anything she is exposed to affects him too.

Peter had spent years telling himself he'd learned that lesson, but he'd just built a quieter version of the same mistake. Responsibility had become control, and he had built the machinery to prove it, and it had gotten away from him exactly the way it had gotten away from Tony, because that was what always happened when you convinced yourself that the ability to prevent a catastrophe was the same thing as the right to.
He didn't destroy the suit.
He didn't have some grand dramatic urge to burn it, and even if he had, it would have been pointless. He wasn’t taking it off for good, he just needed to earn it again. He folded it instead, carefully set it into the bottom of the case, and closed the lid, and for the first time in longer than he could remember, the silence that followed didn't feel like failure.
It felt like a held breath finally let go.

Song Lan’s nostrils flare. He tightens his grip around Xue Yang’s throat. He isn’t sure if he should appreciate it or not. It feels way too nice. But he has a feeling Song Lan wouldn’t like it if he knew what his current actions do to Xue Yang. On the other hand … That could get him to hit me again …
