Summary
After a close encounter with death, Kinich learns he got saved by a human-turned K'uhul Ajaw.
Their familiar dynamic explodes in their faces, both unsure about the other's expectations and intentions now that their contract doesn't hold up anymore. Despite distrust and disappointment, they decide to visit the Archon to tell her about Ajaw's transformation.
Their trip is an emotional rollercoaster neither of them agreed to ride, but now that the seatbelts are on, they have to take each other's hands when things get tough.
What is this rollercoaster metaphor, oh my God, please just read it.

Summary
Ajaw has always been… curious. Some might say nosy, if they don’t fear his almighty wrath at said description.
That curiosity leads him to separate from Kinich on one of their market trips when his sensitive ears pick up on something interesting. The hunter shoots him a questioning glance, but ultimately lets the little pixelated saurian go do what he wants to do. At this point Kinich knows that he can handle any trouble Ajaw might stir.
Ajaw doesn’t get up to any trouble, but he camouflages himself well enough to spy on someone who will.
