The voice that Jiang Cheng hears is low and gruff, bearing entirely no resemblance to the voice of anyone he knows. And although that queer shift in pitch is subtle—suggesting the user’s proficiency in skill at using this particular mode of disguise—it’s the fact that the other person is even attempting to camouflage himself that sets off the warning bells in Jiang Cheng’s head.
The person that captured and brought him here is someone he knows. That’s why they had to disguise their voice. There’s no other plausible explanation for this.
There’s a soft chuckle, followed by the sensation of a warm, calloused palm against the curve of his cheek. “Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you.”

He might not have a sect anymore, but that matters very little. Wanyin doesn’t deserve his sect anyway, not the way Wei Wuxian does.
So Lan Wangji will make sure that Wei Wuxian can return to his rightful place as Yunmeng Jiang clan’s sect leader – Yunmeng Wei, they’ll need to rename it – and then… And then. Jiang Wanyin can do whatever he wants.
As long as what he wants is to stay at Lotus Pier as a good little omega and pop out babies for them, that is.
