    “You’re tilting the blaster inward,” said Crosshair. “Rotate your wrist.”

    “It’s…a little heavy,” Omega admitted.

    “You’ll get used to it. Try again.”

    “Okay.” She held her breath again, closed one eye—and sent another laser bolt to the right of the tree trunk, holding back another curse.

    She could almost feel him roll his eyes behind her.

    “Here,” he said, and there was a crunch as he knelt in the grass, one hand on her left shoulder and the other reaching forward to take her blaster hand and tilt it to the proper angle. His head rested on her right shoulder, his chin sharp. “Now try it.”

    “Well, that’s irregular,” she heard Tech mutter.

    She pulled the trigger.

    AU where the Batch picked up Crosshair after the season finale and are just tryna vibe on a planet I made up. It doesn't go the way they wanted. Rated T for potential violence, angst, injury. It all starts with Cross teaching Omega to shoot a blaster pistol.
