    Summary

    Zim damages his PAK in a lab accident. It’s certainly nothing to worry about... as long as the Tallest send him those replacement parts before it starts seriously affecting his health. Zim’s injury and the resulting increase in his strange behavior inevitably sets Dib off, and his increasing suspicion and paranoia leads to an event that tips the delicate balance of their conflict wildly out of Zim’s favor. One way or another, everything is about to change.

    An exploration of Zim and Dib's weird little frenemyship from 12 to roughly 18, spanning the years before the start of 'Treading Open Water', the first part of my three parter AU Banishment Planet. Enjoy angst, fluff, turmoil, affection, and a whole lot of bad decisions.

    It may take you awhile, seeing as how your species take ages to learn even the most basic of concepts, but you will see, even if it takes the rest of your pathetically short human life, that I AM your god, and you will worship me.

    Summary

    An uncanny knack for survival that boy possessed, a vicious refusal to simply die.

    Broken as his body was, as twisted and shredded, as the cloth on his back was tattered, as painfully it was clinging to his wound, he persisted. Bore the lacerations across his flesh, some still smoking and others oozing, with his head still above the rest; cradled the gaping wound in his abdomen like an expecting woman, careful of her forming young.

    Were he Irken, he surely would’ve hit the Big Red Button implanted into his arm. Vortian, he’d do similar with a rigged, last-ditch-effort-only bracelet. Yet he persists, unsteady feet in boots full of popped blisters under him—he will survive. He will live.

    OR;

    Dib and Gaz have something stolen from them. By any means necessary, they will get it back.
