It made bile rise in Chuuya’s throat and he glared. “They didn’t die in vain—your other self was never able to compare to you. Your clone was an almost perfect abomination. But I can try again.”
Chuuya navigates society at large while grappling with what it means for him to be human, but memories of the past continue to haunt him. Dazai recounts the kinder times of their other selves in another life, and in this universe, Chuuya believes he suffers a fate worse than death.
