There’s always a possibility that they’re all looking in the wrong area. Since this vampire has a human body, who’s to say that brightness even has an effect on him. He could be right under their noses, mingling among human society as they speak.
Or the humanoid vampire dubbed the "Silver Vampire" might be closer than one might imagine and particulary interested in a certain tavern owner.

Neuvillette turns up his nose slightly at the thought of walking amongst the newborn race. Had the Cataclysm not just happened? Had these creatures already forgotten that they lost Egeria to the desert in the south? How can she easily ask him to walk amongst such arrogant creatures?
