On a cold December night, Dazai stands on the edge of a bridge, contemplating suicide. His partner, Chuuya, frantically rushes to save him, and takes him back to his apartment to warm up and talk. Through their conversation, Dazai reveals that he feels like he can't protect what he loves and it will all be taken away from him. Chuuya is determined to show Dazai that he won't leave him, and reassures him that he wouldn't be able to just get over it if Dazai had died. With Chuuya's warmth and reassurance, Dazai finds the strength to hold on.
