Zanka slipped in and out of focus, the smell of rot and poison thick in the cavernous air around him.
I lost.
The two words resonated in his head, in his core, in the stinging of his wounded leg and abdomen, over and over and over again.
I lost.
Above him, Jabber loomed over his shoulders, smiling with glee and dancing gracefully from foot to foot and messing around with Zanka’s beloved Assistaff while Zanka lay helpless on the ground, unable to so much as roll over.

You got isekai’d into a horror dating sim called ‘The Freak Circus.’
Unfortunately, it’s a month before the plot starts, you’re only an NPC, and something’s clearly gone wrong already. The circus is laying low, the timeline’s off, and the key moment that’s supposed to kick everything into motion isn’t going to happen unless you fix it.
So you do what any reasonable person would do - fake injuries, show up uninvited, and get just involved enough to push things along without getting eaten.
It works.
