"I've been meaning to tell you something important. Something that is imperative you know if we are to continue this relationship of ours." Zhongli spoke to his partner of five years, holding his hands across a dinner table.
Diluc's brow creased, slight concern showing in his expression. With how open the both of them were, it was hard to imagine a thing that Zhongli could tell him that he hadn't already known about the man.
He was a funeral consultant, he enjoyed long walks, listening to people tell stories, reading and black tea. The corners of his eyes crinkled when he smiled and he chewed his lower lip when stressed. He hardly slept and when he did, Diluc always caught him staring before he fell asleep.
And yet here he was, all of these things and very much more. So much more. Six thousand years more. Alive before Christ himself was spoken into word.

Summary
It’s been a little over a month since Diluc returned to Mondstadt, and rumors of a mysterious Darknight Hero started to spread. He isn’t fond of the title, but Diluc’s found a way to serve Mond on his own terms, and he isn’t going to let go of it just yet. When the Knights of Favonius are eerily quiet after a group of adventurers go missing in Dragonspine, Diluc resolves to climb the storming mountain and find them himself.
But nothing goes to plan. As he runs into the Eleventh Fatui Harbinger while searching the mountain, Diluc is confronted with the revenge he thought he gave up, and begins to question if this whole Darknight Hero business is flawed to begin with.
