    This, Shěn Qīngqiū thinks to himself with some surprise and also a lot of cursing at the system, is why no one should trust 'Easy XP!' missions.

    It should have been easy. Uncover some of Shěn Jiǔ's memories. Fill in some character motivation or a plot hole or something.

    Instead, the shitty system glitches, mid memory montage. Shěn Qīngqiū steals Shěn Jiǔ's body for the second time. He would have preferred to stay as a nebulous non-ghost, thanks. With the system in 'power saving mode' (because Luò Bīnghé isn't born! Because Shěn Qīngqiū is stuck in the past! What the fuck is his life!!!), the only thing Shěn Qīngqiū can do to get his* life back is to claw it back himself. Day by month by year.

    *...the life he stole from Shěn Jiǔ in the first place. Shut up. Who's even nitpicking like that, come on!

    It begins with Liu Qingge wandering the paths of a hosting sect's gardens, and finding Shen Qingqiu standing uncharacteristically close to one of their hosts. In fact, standing close is something of an inadequate description: Shen Jiu stands rigidly under a tree and their host's hand is stretched out so that his arm blocks Liu Qingge's view of their faces, holding onto a branch of that same tree. His sleeve drapes over Shen Qingqiu's shoulder, his head tilted forward to allow for quieter conversation.

    "All I ask is that you think about it," he tells Shen Qingqiu, so preposterously over-familiar that even Liu Qingge takes note. "Consider your priorities. We'll speak again soon."

    (It begins with attending a preliminary meeting for what could be a very promising inter-sect cooperation, and among their hosts seeing a man that Shen Qingqiu does not recognise, but Shen Jiu does.)
