He had to concentrate on staying upright after Davos pushed him away. "You hear that? The damn Brackens are withdrawing their banners!"
For him, this seemed to be a celebratory verdict of victory. He was propably familiar with the feeling of being able to rely on his men. Aeron did not hold it against him, he hated himself for the fact he could not be that kind of man himself.

Will sat suddenly, bracketing Mike’s legs between his own and using two hands on his shoulders to flip them until Mike was lying horizontally on the sofa with Will on top of him. Mike gasped, the breath knocked out of him, and was once again rendered speechless.
“You were saying?”
“Okay fine!” Mike acquiesced, “But it’s not my fault you got so strong all of a sudden!”
Will rolled his eyes fondly.
“I didn’t ‘get strong’, Mike. I’ve been like this since Cali. You just chose not to notice,”
“Yeah, well, it’s sorta hard to hide your feelings when you’re daydreaming about your best friend’s biceps every other minute,”
Will flushed then, eyes widening. His heart did a funny little jump, and he felt tingly all over.
“My biceps?”
“...Among other things,”______________
Or, Mike has been acting weird since Will realised he had powers. Will thinks it's because he's scared. In reality, Mike is just whipped.

“Go on, it won’t unpack itself,” the headmaster of the orphanage said, appearing right behind Jojo.
He tried keeping the excited smile on his face but as he started wiping away the paper he found it to be impossibly hard.
Staring back at him weren’t brand new shoes, rather it was the front cover of a book. One with a picture of a soccer player as if to add insult to injury.
“I know it isn't exactly what you wanted, but those shoes would have been very expensive. I hope you can have some fun with this too,” the headmaster said, his hand settling on Jojo's shoulder for a second before letting go.
or Jojo doesn't get the birthday gift he wanted from the orphanage so Markus does something about it
