“I’m so sorry, Snufkin; I didn’t mean to stare! It’s just…” he cut off with a sudden blush, too embarrassed to finish that sentence.

Moomintroll wasn’t sure what to do with it—the thing. Like a parasite, it had latched to his leg during a walk (he had not been searching for Snufkin, no matter what Little My said!) and refused to let him go. It had made walking home tricky, but no matter how much he shook, the little thing clung on, delighted.
Or, Moomintroll finds himself stuck with a little mymble. With his parents being entirely unhelpful, he turns to Snufkin to help take her home.

Snufkin could cook. He was an expert at preparing fish and made a mean stew if he said so himself. What Snufkin couldn’t do, however, was bake. After all, there was little means or need to bake on the road, so it was a skill he’d never bothered to acquire.
So why, by all the great stars that twinkled above him, did he suddenly want to bake for Moomintroll?
Snufkin bakes a cake. It's not fun.
