Toffee took both Star and Marco in Storm the Castle. After months of imprisonment and experimentation, they have escaped, but not without scars. Each have a half of the wand infused in their chests, along with the strange ability to turn into beasts, but both are left with little memories besides for their names. Not accepted by human or monster, they must fight for their survival while trying to regain the fragments of the lives they were torn away from.

Summary
He had pulled away from her and his eyes were zeroed in on something on the table, halfway under a book. But the top part was sticking out. It was the photo reel from the photo booth. Marco stepped away from Star and he was going for the photos, his hand reaching out. Star felt her stomach clench and she was then rushing to grasp the photos too.
They both reached the photos at the same time, and Star’s hand brushed Marco’s, and she felt her face light up, pulling her hand quickly away almost as if she were burned. All she could do is watch as Marco pulled the reel free, holding it in one hand.

Summary
If there was one thing that Marco had learned while he was Star's best friend, it was that nothing was ever easy. Even when circumstances had provided a safe, convenient route, Star always seemed to prefer the hard way. Now that the two of them had managed to scheme a plan, which was half-baked at best, that would give Marco the opportunity to live on Mewni, "hard" would have been a godsend.

Summary
Marco should have known, as with all things, that when Star came bounding towards him barely able to contain her giggles, trouble was going to come sooner or later. In this case it was later, but Marco would have preferred it to be never. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be spending his last bit of allowance on a Triple Decker Fudge Brownie Ice Cream Sunday for his best friend at eight o’clock on a Saturday night.
