Summary
A reimagining of the end of 2x16 (Under the Radar) / the beginning of 3x01 (On Guard).
What if Peter had kept his doubts for himself? What if, after having seen the piece of burned canvas with the Chrysler building on it, he had waited to know more instead of confronting Neal right away?
This is what this fic explores.
He looks up to where Neal is, standing near the car. He still looks in shock. Peter doesn't know from what exactly. Almost getting killed by Adler? Adler dying? The Nazi loot burning to the ground? Or rather… his con having worked?
No. Not everything is adding up. Peter thinks about confronting Neal right there and then. He could. It would be easy. He could get his raw reaction. But he stops himself at the last moment.
Too many times he has accused Neal before being sure and there were too many of those times when he should have trusted him instead. This is too big for him to fuck it up. If Neal truly did this, he is done and Peter can't bear the thought.Bookmarked by Kytrin

So.... funny story... when I played through No Good Deed with my girlfriend, I swore up and down Thancred was communicating via Linkshell. Through her and Twitter, they have opened my eyes that he was indeed just being super sneaky and was standing right next to us... suffice to say my brain short circuited and this is what came from that.
