This is my attempt to create a tidy (or at the very least, readable) collection of all the bits of story/character development involving Hivallion, "the Irrefrangible Falathrim", gofer extraordinaire and my character in Lord of the Rings Online. I originally created most of this stuff for my Tumblr, though some things have been edited and slightly changed since the original posting.
I acknowledge that this is pretty self-indulgent; really my main purpose in posting it here is for archival purposes, just like my other two collections for Super Mario RPG and NieR: Automata (talk about tonal whiplash). That said, Hivallion is maybe my most developed original character, or at least my most focused. I put a lot into him and tried to keep him lore-accurate, despite the overall lighthearted slant to the writing. The life of an elf—especially a Falathrim—is fraught with sadness and grief, or in Hivallion's case, slightly wacky misadventure. If you read it anyway, please enjoy!
At the time of publishing this compilation, I've only just gotten to Edoras in the game. Thus it will only cover events up to Riders of Rohan! And, uh, the Midsummer wedding... 😅

"…If displaced, it will attempt to return to the nearest wooded area…"
Our Peter Jacob is back on the job after a six week "nervous health" sabbatical, but it would seem that the so-called Secret World has gone a bit quiet in his absence. This is good news for underleveled Templar mooks, but bad news for occult photographers who happen to make a living in hot pursuit of supernatural snapshots for the Council of Venice. After spending a week chewing either "the fat" or "the fingernails", Peter finally gets a bone chucked at the ol' bonce, courtesy of Temple Hall: A Fata Pădurii, dead and ready for its close-up!
Alas, that red-hot lead takes a rummy turn when Peter has a downright spine-chilling encounter with an old (and we do mean old) acquaintance in East Enson Park. No points for reading the tags and guessing who!
※ Crossover/Fusion AU - Ealdwic, London, c. 1930 AD. ※ Includes bonus chapter with additional headcanon material! ※

Yet another Archival Piece making its way from the Swilly Vault! My inspiration for this work was the canon "Black Rose/Bad End AU" side story "A World Forsaken". There, we learn that Cid, Nero, and other Ironworks employees survived the Black Rose catastrophe because at the time, they were in The Burn, doing maintenance on the magitek field generators at Seiryu's Wall.
This story relates a little incident that happened during that maintenance expedition—specifically one that involves an aetherosolar-powered Magitek pylon and a magpie. However, it doesn't necessarily have to happen in the Bad Ending AU (and it contains no spoilers about "A World Forsaken"). It's just a funny, cute story and nothing horrible happens, pinky swear! 😇

"Look to the heavens and see it shine!" - The Hooters
Behold! Another tidbit from the Swilly Vault that I'm posting here for archival purposes! Like so many other works I've posted here, I'm reasonably sure this was supposed to be a part of a larger story, but things simply didn't turn out that way. Similar to Lies the Seed, this is another story in the "Cid visits Nero in the hospital and they ramble on like middle-aged men" genre that would've taken place during the 4.2-4.5 era. Yes, good old Omega! (Try not to think too hard about how long ago that was...)
It's in first person and the incomparable Nero Scaeva is our narrator; I think this is actually another 80's AU as well. I'm sorry that I don't have any more information on what this scene was supposed to become! I hope you enjoy reading it anyway. 🐊

A modest collection of very short stories I wrote about NieR Automata. Honestly, "stories" is a bit generous a term here (and so is "short" if we get right down to it); these aren't quite as short as drabbles, but still short and sketchy. So… dribbles then? (Can androids dribble? Or dunk, for that matter? 🏀) Vignettes? Let's go with vignettes. Anyway, whatever you call 'em, they mostly involve Pascal, my favorite character in Automata.
I'm really just posting these to AO3 for personal archival purposes. However, if you read them anyway, I hope you enjoy!

A small compilation of funny little shorts about Mario RPG that are, uh, quite brief! Hence the title! Get it? 👙 There are seven super-short stories (like seven stars), plus a summary for an imaginary episode of "The Super Mario RPG Super Show" and a couple scrappy little bits to cap the whole thing off. Kind of like the crumbs at the bottom of a packet of cookies.
I'm really just posting this here for personal archival purposes, but if you read it, I hope you like it anyway. For the record, my favorite character in Mario RPG is Bundt... 🎂

Summary
Campfire scuttlebutt scene set towards the end of the Avatar's adventures in Serpent Isle. Shamino, plus Sethys, Stefano and Wilfred have been given the very important
trip for biscuitstask of locating the Staff of the Serpent somewhere in Furnace (probably). But first, they actually have to get there without getting maimed by goblins, flattened by trolls, or otherwise going completely mental from their constant bickering. Furthermore, the unnerving presence of a hitherto unidentified Sorcerer in their midst is not helping the matter at all.Meanwhile, our Buck Buck continues to be a completely ordinary rooster who has tagged along for some unplumbed reason. But wait… Could he be the Sorcerer? And do we get the answer to this question within the very first sentence of this story?

Summary
Set shortly after the rescue of Mortegro from the dreaded Moat of Tolerance. Giselle the Avatar, plus her band of
subparsubstitute companions (the Serpent Isle Irregulars), have made a quick detour to the Isle of Beyond in hopes of getting repairs for their automaton friend Petra, who suffered some unaccountable damage to her cerebral emulator during their recent tour of the Northlands. Unfortunately, the one automaton repairman left in the world—Torrissio De Vitis, the Life Mage of Moonshade and an all-around blister—also has a unique talent of turning what should be a simple fix into an insufferable ordeal, this time involving a spot of Ancient History...Meanwhile, Gwenno plays Magister to a couple of unruly bantlings while the actual Magister continues to collect dust in the Seminarium, Giselle goes on a snail hunt with Ernesto the Ranger while Ernesto the Ranger fails to identify the Isle's most common birds, and Sethys almost enjoys a few hours of almost requiescence before the preceding paragraph shows up and tears his hat off and bungs it over a fence. It's fun for the whole family, provided your whole family isn't Sethys's hat.

Let's kick off this Ultima fanfic series in style with eight short(ish), loosely related stories about the Avatar's *other* companions on Serpent Isle. The title is apropos of absolutely nothing BUT each story comes with its own screenshot ft. mock-up Black Gate-style paperdolls! If you've got nothing better to do, come and read a little about Stefano and Selina and Mortegro... and the rest!

Summary
One can't help but feel sorry for Sethys, an acolyte of a lost philosophy who accidentally got himself folded into a Time Breach while the rest of his civilization collapsed around him during a hideously violent war. There he stands in the prime of neither life nor death, imprisoned alone in a freezing basement, his very existence lobbed far beyond the agency of time, going mad with unaddressed trauma, immortality, boredom and a complete inability to tell one second, hour, day, year, from the one before or after.
And perhaps worst of all, the very first person he has to interact with after roughly 8500 years of all that, is one miserable G.D. mudsill by the name of Batlin...
(Prelude to The Meadowtron, a loosely connected series of humorous stories about The Avatar's "B-Team" on Serpent Isle.)

POSTED BY REQUEST! Uhh. This is very short, thank god. I think this was my take on FF14 as an 80's teen gross-out movie ala Meatballs 2 or whatever. Yes this is the scene where Y'shtola drags Aymeric to the mall food court where Nero Scaeva works, with the objective of bribing him to deep fry Nidhogg's eyeballs and get rid of them once and for all. I'm not tagging the other names because I don't want to get jumped. Good luck!

So what have we here? This is an ongoing compilation of all of the snippets, stories, sketches, and stuff that I've written (and will hopefully continue to write in the future) featuring the Garlond Ironworks and friends (especially Nero Scaeva). Please look forward to generally disconnected silliness with the occasional unexpected "emotional bit". Sort of like finding a bone in your PB&J...
TODAY'S UPDATE (March 3): What's this? An update? Indeed, "Nobody We Knew" is a little bit of Ironworks dialogue that takes place somewhere in the latter stages of Endwalker. Featuring Nero, Biggs, Wedge, and a lettuce sandwich. You're probably thinking by now that I can't write anything but script fics, and you would be wrong. In fact, I can't write anything, period. The fact that this exists at all may be taken as proof of the existence of something like an Echo, allowing authors to exceed even the limitations of their own crushing irrelevance. Huzzah!

A triptych of flash fics (~750 words each) about Jacques and the Budehuc shipwreck. Also about birds, among other inexplicably, inextricably connected things. Spans the entirety of the game, so slight spoilers? For Suikovember 2021!

Summary
It's an early morning roadside diner fic, 70's-80's AU, set shortly before the events of Suikoden 3. Geddoe and friends sit around and argue and wait for breakfast and try to welcome their newcomer, who actually might have something rather important to tell them provided he can actually get around to actually saying it. As suggested by the title, our heroes are dealing with a hot mess on toast. May also contain mild suggestions of eldritch horror, just enough to put you off your pancakes. Flip the Ace of Ruin and WITNESS ten footnotes for extra nonsense!
Sorry, my stories aren't usually about anything so it's hard for me to write good summaries. Thanks for understanding. Completed just in time for Suikovember 2021.

Summary
Finally, a story that poses the compelling question: "What if Klaus Windamier was a Sagittarius?" Actually, I couldn't come up with a really useful summary for this one so I fed the words "really useful summary" through a supercomputer and that's what came out. Sorry. Takes place right before the first assault on Muse. Jillia has a request. Klaus has a typewriter and rapidly disappearing optimism. Featuring Rowd as the Deus ex Machina. Contains 27.7% of one's recommended daily allowance of Footnotes, plus tautological goodness through and through. Also I guess this counts as AU? I mean, did they even have typewriters in Suikoden? Oh, who cares...

You know things are going great when I'm lifting inspiration from Bucks Fizz songs. Anyway, this is a quickie vignette from the Black Rose Bad End AU featuring Cid and Nero ... I guess it's technically an AU within an AU because our post-apocalyptic world still has clock radios and Engelbert Humperdinck. I know, just in time for Valentine's Day, right.

Summary
From 2018, I guess circa Patch 4.2-4.3. Certain events in 5.3 reminded me of the existence of this short story, in which Nero and Cid (in Sigmascape) try to explain to our gormless WoL what a "plenipotentiary" is while giving their limited opinions on one Asahi sas Brutus. It's very short—maybe about five minutes of your time you'll never get back, so I recommend reading it while you are also doing some unavoidable passive task, e.g., while riding public transportation, getting picked for a district court jury, suffering through an older sibling's high school band concert, or spending company time scrolling your mobile device as you sit on a workplace toilet (Remember: The boss makes a dollar while you make a dime...)

Summary
Exactly what it says in the title. Cid and Nero rent a snug at a bar and bicker for a little bit. I must confess that while this story definitely had a plot and a point at some point, at another point I completely forgot both point and plot and thus we are pointless, plotless, and yes, unfortunately unfinished forever, sort of like a second-rate fanfic version of La Sagrada Familia. If leaving naught but the sinuous skeleton of architectural nonsense is good enough for Gaudi, it's good enough for Swilly and hopefully it's good enough for you too.

Summary
This is my entry for CidNero Week 2020 in which Cid regrets several things, one of which was waiting so long to visit Nero at the hospital (a regret Nero seems determined to reverse). A rather lonely piece I think, so it fits with Day 6's theme. This happens between Sigmascape and Alphascape (so, maybe around patch 4.3), but before the beginning of Alphascape. I say "happens" as if anything happens in it at all, but this is a lie, sorry. As for the shippiness of it, I'd say it's no more or less ambiguous than the writing of the game itself.
