    Kissing Steve feels like coming home. Everything about it is familiar and right, the long forgotten steps to this well learned dance guiding Bucky’s way as they continue to trade leisurely kisses, neither one of them taking a step to move it further quite yet.

    And then Bucky is wrapping his arms around Steve’s neck, pulling him impossibly closer as he kisses him with a newfound intensity, the years of loss and the uncertain future making him not want to waste a second more- he needs to be submerged in the other man, needs to drown in his touch, needs to breathe in his taste.

    Bucky woke up as the sun rose for his first day on the job, making sure he gave himself plenty of time to shower, get ready, and eat breakfast. He was by no means a morning person, so he was running purely on adrenaline. He put on his brand-new navy blue suit and stood in front of the mirror, checking himself over for the hundredth time. He ran a slightly-shaky hand through his hair, curls tamed with gel. He usually wasn’t this nervous, but this internship was a big deal. And Senator Rogers was an even bigger deal. He did not want to embarrass himself.
