Summary
Wilhelm doesn’t respond for several long, torturous seconds, his brows furrowed and lips agape in a cartoonish expression of confusion, before he finally speaks up again. “Wait, so— you want me to be your boyfriend?”
“No, I want you to pretend to be my boyfriend.”
Wilhelm rolls his eyes at the distinction, pausing to chew on the inside of his cheek, his face twisted up in thought, “For how long?”
“Long enough for both Marcus and your parents to think it’s serious. A few months at least.”
Wilhelm rests his temple against the bottoms of his palms, taking a deep breath before pulling himself back up and mumbling, “Okay,” then more confidently, “I’m in.”

After transferring to Hillerska the summer before his third year, and leaving his toxic ex-boyfriend, Marcus, back at his old school, Simon becomes the only out gay kid among all the elitist assholes he's sworn to keep his distance from. Summary
"Simon, have you ever kissed someone before?" he asked, feeling insecure about broaching the subject.
Simon was surprised by the question but answered honestly, "No, I've never kissed anyone. Why?"
"Well, I have kissed someone before." Wilhelm hesitated for a moment. "Maybe I can help you, if you want... to learn, I mean."

Simon asks Wilhelm, his roommate, to be his fake boyfriend after breaking up with Adam. What starts as a scheme to make Adam jealous turns into a whirlwind of emotions when real feelings emerge, leading them to question what is true and what is pretense.

Summary
There are many words Simon would use to describe Wilhelm. “Arrogant,” “spoiled,” and “a prissy prince” to name a few. Likewise, Wilhelm thinks he has Simon accurately labeled as an attention-seeking asshat who never shuts his loud mouth. Their disdain for each other seems to know no bounds, until the two wake up in one bed after a house party which causes a surge in their friends’ pre-existing notion that Simon and Wilhelm’s hatred for each other is just poorly veiled lust.
Eventually it all becomes too much for either of them to handle, leading to Simon and Wilhelm agreeing to fake date long enough to end their “relationship” in a massive staged fight which will finally get their friends off of their backs once and for all. But the more time they spend together, the more their plan begins to fall apart, and they realize that falling for your enemy isn’t as impossible as it seems.
TLDR: An enemies to lovers & fake dating story, with focuses on Simon’s struggle to keep his family afloat despite his father’s abuse and addiction, and Wille’s trauma and anxiety from childhood to adulthood, heavily based on the book “They Hate Each Other” by Amanda Woody

boy meets boy, fall in love, they sad cuz people mean, boy and boy can't see each other. At least their brothers are happy for a little while.
He didn’t love her not the way she wanted him to. They both knew it but neither mentioned it. Weather that was because they didn’t want to unpack all of that or if they wanted to keep living in blissful ignorance of what they both knew was fact. Hanna knew, Erik knew hell maybe even his mother knew.
Erik knew from the beginning that he and Philip could never figure out a way to love each other on their own terms. They were simply not that lucky.
