Summary
"No, Chris you are not going to Texas! Absolutely not! You don't want to see me or talk to me? I understand, okay? We can figure something else out! We have family here. You dont have to run to Texas. Run to them! Why would you run to them?" He sucks in a shuddering breath. "Why, Chris? To- to hurt me?" Eddie chokes out eyes filling with tears.
He doesn't register Helena's scoff through the raging waters in his ears.
Chris is stunned but quickly schools his expression and says in a small voice, "Yeah."
Eddie's face crumples and a tear makes its way down his cheek, "Okay. Go to your room. Please."
Or; Eddie doesn't let Chris go to Texas. Harsh words and tears ensue. Buck is there.

Summary
They met one hot summer day by the lake.
It wasn't magic, but Eddie felt a spark that day. Maybe it was the 6-pack of Corona he commandeered for himself. Maybe it was the tequila. Maybe it was the fireworks they set off in the parking lot. Or perhaps it was the twin pair of striking blue eyes that lit a fire somewhere deep inside him in a place he feared would only ever smolder, sputter, and burn out.

"The glass fell from his hand. But he never heard it shatter against the floor. Suddenly all sounds of the world around left him. Matt could not hear the chatter of his city. He could not hear the buzz of the billboard across the street. He could not hear the heartbeat of his neighbor across the hall. Nothing. He couldn't hear a damn thing."

Summary
Buck had thought the black mask that completely covers the top half of the guy's face looked silly, when he'd seen it on the news.
Now, with the man in front of him, he realizes why no one jokes about the vigilante's appearance. Even though he clearly doesn't perceive Buck as a threat, he seems like a mountain rather than a real person. All of his muscles look toned, and there's something dangerous in the set of his shoulders. Still, he offers Buck a small smile, one that kind of reminds him of Eddie's. He reaches his hands down to help Buck stand. It puts the man's biceps next to his face.
Buck swallows. Be normal when you talk to the hot vigilante, he thinks to himself.
"You know they make bigger shirt sizes, right?" he asks instead.

Summary
"You look exactly the same," Eddie says with tears in his eyes. "How is that even possible?"
"I don't know," Buck says, his thumb swiping across Eddie's knuckles. "I don't understand it."
He may be the same, but looking at Eddie, Buck can see the years on him. His hair is a bit different, the creases by the corners of his eyes just a bit deeper. There's a new scar on his right hand that Buck hasn't seen before. He'd know these hands blind, but it takes him a moment to notice it still. His fingers brush over it once, and then again before he actually looks down and sees the thin golden band wrapped around Eddie's ring finger. Then he just—stares at it, stupidly, for a second. Before Eddie pulls his hands back, and leaves Buck's hanging empty in the space between them.
"You're married," he says.

Summary
Buck didn’t like him at first.
Eddie Diaz was all hard lines and strict rules with a bone structure that could cut through glass and scared away his fans. Which... if you asked Bobby, was the point but still!
He also yelled at Buck which was fine. It’s not like it hurt his feelings.
It didn’t.
It didn’t, Maddie!
It also definitely didn’t turn Buck on either. Nope.
Stop it, Maddie!
After a traumatizing home invasion, Bobby Nash decides to hire a bodyguard for his lead singer.

Summary
“Hi, I’m Buck, a firefighter with the 136,” for now, the thought crashes through Buck, leaving a sour taste in his mouth. “Uh, you’re both welcome to take a tour with us, if you’d like.” Buck awkwardly scratches at his neck, running a hand through his hair, unsure what else to do, and it spurs the man in front of him to take a large step forward up to Buck’s bed.
“Eddie,” he says, thrusting a hand to him, and Buck reaches over without a second thought. His whole palm feels electric, it smarts and carries the touch of Eddie, Eddie, that Buck feels it completely. He has no idea what’s happening to him. “Edmundo Diaz, but just Eddie though, uh, no one calls me Edmundo. Right. I’m a new nurse here, at Cedars-Senai. Oh –”

When Daniel Buckley lives a little longer, Evan Buckley dies a little more. And this is how Eddie Diaz saves him, a little later on.
