Viktor had agreed to it mostly because the publicity would bring them more funding. Looking at it now, though, the whole thing leaves a bad taste in his mouth.

The cat in the center of the room has a good weight to it, unlike many of the street cats that fill the edges. His fur is gray, nearly a blue-gray, short and clean. The eyes that stare at the three of them are practically orange in color. Just like with the Cat King in Port Townsend, there's a flash of light—orange this time—and then a man stands before them instead of a cat.
He doesn't look anything like the Cat King Charles has already met, but there are certain aspects that seem like they could be familiar, though he can't quite put his finger on which ones. The eyes, certainly. The build, maybe. London’s Cat King isn’t so fashionable, so to speak, content with a leather jacket and jeans, but he holds himself the same way. Imperious. Demanding. Regal.
