    Summary

Ilya Rozanov has a problem. Shane Hollander has a hypothesis. The media has a narrative.

The summer Shane and Ilya spent together in Moscow when they were sixteen follows them into the spotlight of their professional careers. The world is all too happy to remind them of their shared history; former teammates turned rivals - as if either of them could ever forget.

The story gives them a perfect cover.

It doesn't give them any excuses.

    *****

This story is a sequel to "Plexiglass Box", in which Shane and Ilya meet in 2007, when Shane's mother joins the coaching staff of Ilya's junior hockey team for the summer.
Or: Shane is Ilya's coach's son.

    Summary

    His eyes land on Ilya.

For one brief second, Ilya thinks Hollander is going to stop, step out of the walkway, say something. Do anything.

Ilya's hand twitches at his side, absurdly, like it's waiting for a handshake that has not happened yet. Like it's preparing for the contact.

Instead, Hollander gives him the smallest half-nod, barely there, and walks into the arena.

OR: One bad World Juniors drops Ilya Rozanov to sixth overall in the draft and Shane Hollander goes first. Rozanov decides he’s going to spend his career proving the league wrong. What he doesn’t plan on is becoming fixated on Hollander in the process — on the way he plays, and the way he watches Rozanov right back. Somewhere along the way, it stops being about the league’s attention and starts being about keeping Hollander’s.

    Summary

Four years ago, Shane Hollander suffered a career-ending injury after getting hit by Marlow on the ice. Despite Ilya’s best efforts to reach out, he never hears from Shane again. Nor does anyone as Shane Hollander disappears from the public eye. Complete radio silence.

That is, until Ilya receives a call from his agent, asking if he is willing to ‘say a couple of nice words on camera about Shane Hollander’. Why? Oh. Because he will be induced in the MHL Hall of Fame in three weeks. And said Canadian golden boy will likely be there.

Ilya is totally okay about this, of course.

    Summary

When Ilya woke up that morning, the first thing his eyes saw were Shane's dark locks, then his beautiful skin, kissed by the warm rays of the sun that was shining bright in the sky.

Ilya had always felt safe there, tangled with the love of his life in his bed; he finally felt at home, after so many years of despair and hiding his feelings.

He really hoped that was just one of the many more mornings that life was giving them.

What he couldn’t have imagined, though, was that a few hours into that same day their lives would have changed forever. He really did not remember that black haired woman who was claiming to be the mother of a daughter he never knew of.

    Or

Ilya has the almost perfect life with the man he loves. Now, he has to find room in it for the daughter he didn’t know he had, and the woman who’s leaving her behind.

    Summary

    They broke up years ago.
Ilya moved on. Got married. Built a life.
    And then his wife died.

Shane wasn’t supposed to come to Boston for the funeral.
He definitely wasn’t supposed to stay.

Now they’re in the same house again,
    sleeping in separate rooms,
    avoiding each other’s eyes,
trying very hard not to touch.

But grief has a way of pushing you back into arms you thought you’d never feel again
