Summary
Wei Wuxian scrunches his nose at the mention of marriage. As an adopted member of the Jiang family, he knows his prospects are less than ideal. Their beloved Lotus Pier estate will go with Jiang Cheng, and the substantial dowry Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan have saved will go with Jiang Yanli. Wei Wuxian loves his siblings dearly and wants them to receive their full respective inheritances, but the idea that he will be able to marry any individual of reputable status given that he has nothing to offer is laughable.

The words made the Jade man flinch, his usually impassive eyes turning as cold as ice. A memory poked though his mind.. One the man both cherished and hated.
The sun always shone down on his face… or was he the sun himself? It was hard to tell at times with the blinding radiance of his smile. Every time he spoke Wangji couldn't help but roll his eyes and look away, always shaking his head in disappointment.. Disappointment because he was told angels did not exist on earth when there was clearly one always stuck to him like a leech.
It was dangerous, how vulnerable the man made Lan Wangji feel. How even his insults brought him warmth. “Lhan Zhan! You always dress like it’s a funeral!” The voice echoed in his head, sending a warm shiver through his icy jade stature. The longing hurt.. More than the hundreds of lashes he had to endure for his retaliation. It hurt more than dying… at least he thought. Yet he couldn't die.. Wei Ying had died to stop the chaos himself, so Lan Lan Wangji had to see it through to the very end. If that was the least he could do, then he’d do it to his last breath.
