Summary
Xia Fei unintentionally joined Qiao Ling in the unfortunate, but seemingly common experience, of walking in on Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang in the middle of something. He got back to his apartment, ready to rest after a stressful day orchestrated by Liu Xiao. What waited for him there was a person he wasn't quite ready to face yet.

But Xia Fei, now all grown up, was the only one to ever dare call him kind.
Kindness was not a word Vein acknowledged. Kindness was unnecessary in a world of predators and prey, deception and exploitation, death and decay.
Of course, something Xia Fei conveniently ignored was his special treatment. No one else got calls immediately after each shoot, attentive reminders to eat healthy foods, sleep on time, et cetera. No one else had Vein on speed-dial, nor did anyone else dare to call him with urgent pleas for rescue from drunk football hooligans.
Vein wouldn’t have it any other way.
