Ajax couldn't see.
He's not blind, he could see very well that the sky is blue, grass is green, mud is brown yellowish, the fountain pen that his father gifted him that cost him an arm and leg is darkest shade of blue, his first winter coat his mom knitted for him as he reached the height of 6 foot is light grey and so on and so forth.
He just couldn't see his father, mother, siblings and the rest. Even Her Majesty The Tsaritsa.
But he doesn't tell anyone. Well, not like anyone could figure it out either, he's just too good at hiding it. All he need to do is figure out their height from their voice and then boom, he could started the conversation while looking into their invisible eyes without anyone accusing him of being a blind guy.
He doesn't know if it's a curse from the abyss that bestowed upon him or he just that unlucky. Even his master couldn't figure it out. She said she would look into it but judging from it has been 12 years since then, Ajax pretty much sure she couldn't cure him.
It's fine. He already accepted he fact that he couldn't see all of them ever since the fall of the abyss. He had to.
But then how come he could see Zhongli perfectly ??
