Tommy wants to laugh. How far has he fallen in order to be talked down by a hero? A hero who had hated his guts less than two months ago at that. He stares upon the grey city, a place that could never be his home, and sighs. “I’m not going to jump.”
“Then step away.”

Summary
Soulmates are fickle little things, a bond that cannot be broken. An invisible string; strong and durable as the hardest netherite, pesky and unrelenting as the wittiest enderman. The bond is sticky and sweet, a disturbing love trying to force its way into the hearts and minds of the people who have no place for it.
Tommy knows it all too well, watching his companions break into fights, heartbroken over a mere string that tie their beating organs together, not yet over the betrayals of the past servers they've been forcefully put into.
He doesn't want to know where his string will take him. Afraid of seeing the eyes of old friends whose hands are colored red, flakes of snow still sticking to their clothes like how Tommy wishes he could as well.
