'The waitress smirks, pulling a pencil from behind her ear. A few messy strands of chestnut brown hair fall out of the equally messy but styled ponytail the waitress’ hair is up in. “Just wondering if you wanted to order a drink while you wait for the rest of your party.”
“I’m okay, thank you,” Adora answers, “I’ll wait until my date gets here.”
The waitress raises an eyebrow, like she’s surprised someone as awkward as Adora has a date. She smirks, and questions, “blind date?”
Adora feels herself blushing and wonders how the woman knows. “Uh, maybe.”'
Or, Bow and Glimmer set Adora up on multiple bad dates, and Catra is the cute waitress at the restaurant who's enjoying the show.

The call comes in at 5:27 pm, which, first of all, fuck that. Who calls a store three minutes before closing? But Catra’s pretty sure if she’s caught sending a homicidal stare towards the telephone until it stops ringing one more time, her manager’s gonna want a word.
Or: Adora calls the local aquatic store for help with her new goldfish inherited from Razz, Catra's the one who answers the phone. Shenanigans ensue.

“It’s my birthright as you elder brother to rib into you about that”, he smirked. “And I haven’t told Mom and Dad anything. I’d rather see you squirm until they find out. Besides, Mom will never catch on until you spell it out for her.”
“Yeah, you better keep your mouth shut, or I’ll tell Dad about how that bump in his car came to be.”

It's been five years since the end of the war and Adora's never been happier. She's married to the love of her life, she's surrounded by friends, and she and Catra are about to become parents. Nothing could go wrong, but after much deliberation, and many years of planning, it's decided that the time has come to try and rescue Angella from the world in between realities. But, nothing ever goes according to plan, and rather than rescuing Angella they manage to lose Adora to an alternate universe. When Adora wakes up alone and in her old bed, she knows something is wrong. When she can't find her wife she knows it's incredibly wrong. Where is Catra? Why does no one know where Catra is?
It's been about six and a half years since the end of the war - since Catra let Adora go in the Crimson Waste and the Horde fell apart in her absence. It's been about six and a half years since Adora's seen Catra at all. But a day hasn't gone by that Adora hasn't thought about Catra. Not a day has gone by that she hasn't wished she could see her again. Then, one day, she wakes up on the floor of Entrapta's lab, and Catra's just there, and she's pregnant, and she's holding her.
