    Summary

There’s a ghost haunting the 141 common room. At least, Soap is about 80% sure there is, which is, in fairness, realistically about as sure as anyone could reasonably be about spooks haunting their workplace. He’s not stupid, he knows no one else is going to believe him if he brings it up. The scorn if he suddenly starts harping on about ghosties and ghoulies.

None of that negates the fact that there definitely is one though. Probably.

    Summary

    What the fuck.

Soap brings his hand closer to his face, squinting hard. Making his already pounding headache worse. This isn’t real. Has to be a prank. For some reason, Gaz must’ve sneaked in here. Funny guy.

He’s heard—even seen it, once—the stories. It’s rare, but real, or at least an elaborate hoax, spanning countries and hundreds of years.

People brought together, Fate intervening. Everyone is supposed to have one, a red thread leading and binding them to the person they’re supposed to spend their life with, though Soap isn’t sure how true that is. No one falls in love once. But it’s not just for love, as he heard it. Maybe this is that. He’s not in love with Ghost. Wants him, sure, crushing…not something he wants to admit to in the cold light of day, but okay.

    It’s not love.

380k words of angsty fundemental misunderstandings and poor communication skills, BUT they are also SO horny for each other. They are trying SO hard to be 'normal' around eachother that they accidentally miss 'homoerotic subtext' by landing feet first in the 'accidental blowjob meets extreme self loathing'. Literally just thinking with their dicks plus 'don't ruin the friendship' plus being literally feral for each other (see knife/blood kink etc). Real Freak4Freak behaviour tbh.. (soapgaz etc ships are fun and flirty but in the 'gotta kiss your homies goodnight' vibe. )

How do you tell a dog from an SAS sergeant?

Soap's been trying to think of a punchline, but so far, all he's got is a dog’s gotta shit in the woods and bury it slightly more often than an SAS Sergeant.

    Summary

He wades in it now, eyes still open, fixed on the speckled ceiling, begging himself not to crave bomb blasts and artillery fire in his childhood bedroom. Although…there might be something beautiful about it all, Johnny supposes, those noises in the thick. The gasps in between discharge that say: I’m here, I’m a part of this song too.

After a near-fatal injury, John MacTavish finds himself back in his hometown in Scotland. Fresh off an untimely discharge, he's forced to cope with disability, his dysfunctional family, and the lingering knowledge that there are some things he's just not ready to leave behind...

    Bookmarker's Notes

Very good! Very realistic in terms of 'all people have flaws' and 'family can be complicated' while also being fundimentally a story about healing and that healing is never a full return to before the hurt.
