Summary
Aventurine never wants to do another mission debrief in his life.
He says that every time he has to do one, but it’s true. It’s by far his least favorite kind of work—already crashing hard from the adrenaline of the operation, having to trudge through stacks of paperwork without even having a moment to recover because rest and time could “weaken his memory”.
Ratio always lectures him to no end for saying this, but he genuinely prefers the days of work where his life is on the line—not because he craves death in the way that he used to, but because at least those never make him want to claw his eyes out of his head from boredom and frustration.
He perks up a bit at the thought. Ratio. The man invited him over to his home for dinner tonight, as a celebration for him being back in town after a month of being away for work. The anticipation was the only thing pushing him forward, today.
Aventurine goes over to Ratio's for dinner after a mission. This has become routine for both of them—he probably spends more time at the doctor's apartment than his own, at least when they're both on the planet. That doesn't have to mean anything, though.

Summary
At least they’re giving him a chance to take his pick from registered Doctors of Chaos, even if Jade threatened to shut her eyes and grab a name out of her hat if he didn’t send a choice to her desk in five days. Somehow, the shiver of hatred he gets at that idea is enough to get him to do some research, even if it’s on his phone and in his bed.
There’s something wrong with every option—limited surviving patients, or obscured qualifications, or a weird glinty smile that makes a flash of nausea run through him. He’s about to give up and throw his phone to the other side of the room—so he has to get up and get it later, a trick he’s picked up recently—when a fraction of a sentence catches his eye.

‘…Ratio?’
After surviving his encounter with the Nihility, Aventurine has to get treatment from a Doctor of Chaos to aid his recovery. While doing research, he finds an unexpected name.
