To get them off of her back, she creates a "fictitious man", the perfect guy, so they would stop pestering her, but when they ask for his name, she panics, and tells them that his name is Sandor. Only, Sandor is her neighbor, one whom she loathes, he's rude, a brute, and just plain mean.
