It wasn’t the first time someone had called Baku his boyfriend, or Gotak his lackey, and it most probably wouldn’t be the last one, but still, it was weird.
Gotak had no problem with the joke whatsoever, only with the intentions behind them, but he couldn’t stop but wonder.Did they really give off that energy? Or was it just the others fucking around?
Or just five times someone pointed out Baku’s and Gotak’s relationship and one time they decided to acknowledge it (kind of)

" Humin-ah?", a quiet voice suddenly called, the boy's eyes, still hazy from both sleep and medication, widening in panic when Humin's reaction was to flinch and stand up.
It was only after the comforting warmth was yanked away from his hand that he realised Humin had been holding him.
" Don't leave.", he spoke again in a hurry, voice harsh and raspy, but still soft in such an odd way.
"I'll just go get a nurse.", Humin simply replied and it sounded so uncharacteristically awkward and hesitant that Hyuntak had to sigh.
"I meant in general.", he rushed to say, before Humin could go too far.
And he'd blame his raw honesty to the medicine and fatigue, but he found himself regretting nothing as he spoke again,

" Who said you're useless?", he wondered, his voice unstable with devastation and offence on Hyuntak's behalf.
" Come on, Humin-ah.", Hyuntak gave a shallow smirk, a pained and knowing thing, " You've been protecting me for years and I can't protect you for shit."
It felt as if the words had taken a physical form, sharp and cruel, and stabbed Humin in the chest, right by his rapidly beating heart.
" What are you talking about? " and he sounded genuinely puzzled, but Hyuntak didn't have a proper answer to entirely satisfy his curiosity.
" I'm trying to get stronger, dumbass.", he said instead, a shaky attempt at letting Humin get a glimpse of his thoughts.
" Assholes left and right are using me to hurt you, to get under your skin."He saw Humin freeze slightly, saw his gaze momentarily flicker towards his knee, but he had to speak and let everything out before his lips inevitably got sealed shut once again.
