He wasn’t really sure what he expected Eddie to do. The absolute last thing Steve expected, however, was for Eddie’s to take Steve’s outstretched hand in his own. “Apologies, my liege,” Eddie cooed in a low, dark tone, and pressed a kiss to Steve’s knuckles. Steve’s jaw dropped to the floor and his stomach did something warm and fuzzy against his will.
Steve blinked. Wait—
Eddie’s eyes were locked on his as he pressed another kiss, higher this time on the back of Steve’s hand, and Steve felt the hair on the back of his neck stick up like static. He was gradually starting to realize something about himself that he wasn’t sure he wanted to do in a room full of people.
Oh.
In a smooth motion, Eddie turned Steve’s hand over in his own and pressed one final kiss to his wrist, right over where Steve’s pulse was hammering beneath his skin.
“Will you forgive me, your majesty?”
