Summary
It’s like a washing machine.
Spinning, spinning, spinning. Tossing everywhere and mixing feelings such as being teammates, friends, best friends, crush, love of his life (probably, Lando had always been dramatic) then rivals. Everything melting together and Carlos saying they are best friends during that challenge feeling like a declaration of love to Lando. Then, after that, it was a speeding car (obviously, a Red Bull, because his McLaren was way too slow to describe his rapid descent in hell). Running away, running towards, his feelings, like his train of thoughts, were always everywhere, tumbling like a Jenga tower, incoherent, somehow stupid.

Despite looking urbanely fresh, he can’t even begin to articulate how tired he is – Miami has been a giant fiasco, he wants little fan favorite Oscar Piastri to burn, and now Lando is here, throwing his nonsense at him just because Carlos is, fundamentally, a good man, and he would never leave a friend in need on the goddamn curb, no matter what the most rational side of him is saying.
“I needed you to come to my party. And you weren’t there.”
Ouch. This fucking hurts. So much for his good heart and shit. Lando is watching him intently, weirdly holding onto him not to buckle over, and his eyes are the most silver Carlos have ever seen, glistening in the soft glow of the lights, liquid and impossibly languid.
“I’m sorry,” he echoes, clearing his throat. He’s forced to look away because Lando’s eyes, just like supermassive black holes, suck in everything that happens to orbit around them. His undivided attention. His utmost care. All of his affection.

“It’s okay. I drank instead. Just like I did in Amsterdam.”Lando knocks at Carlos' door after his celebratory party. Neither of them is ready for where the night is going to lead them.
