Ben Solo is a man of routine. He likes his coffee black, his days planned and his jobs uncomplicated. He knows that surprises and change usually lead to mistakes and in his line of work, he can't afford a mistake. Which is why hiring Rey Niima as his assistant was such a monumental oversight.
Rey Niima enjoys seeing the happy and good things in life. She loves food, her cat, her friends and her new job. Her boss is grumpy but lovely and she's good at what she does. Despite her minor (ok, yes, major) crush on her boss, she has her life under control.
It's just a shame she doesn't know she's working for a hitman.
A story of surprisingly soft moments, falling for the one person you shouldn't, plants, cats and murder.

Summary
Rey has her life in order. She owns a cafe across from a prestigious university. She also has a great group of friends but it's hard being single when all your friends are happily married. But she’s never really been that great at relationships anyway.
As the English Professor at Skywalker U, Ben Solo is not known for being the most pleasant teacher on campus. What does he have to be happy about? He doesn't really talk to his family, his only friends are his poetry books and his relationships never seem to pan out due to his inability to connect with people.
When these two lonely souls meet, there is an instant...something between them. As Ben and Rey's bond grows stronger, they devise a plan so crazy that it just might work and they might never have to be alone again. In the end, they find that the only people they are fooling are themselves.

Kylo Ren is the head of the Costume Department for the Star Alliance Opera. Rey is his beleaguered assistant. It’s hell. She’s slowly crumbling under endless hours of work and impossible standards. Being a broke post-grad, their most recent argument is fought over the condition of Rey’s personal wardrobe and her inability to find anything appropriate for the Opening Night Gala this season. Kylo insists he’s handled the problem by making her dress himself, but has he? It just seems like he's making Rey stay late after work out of spite, for hours of fittings, alone with him.

She opens it and stares.
She stares and stares and stares.
Dr. Dameron has to be kidding. There have to be hidden cameras here, this has to be some elaborate prank. That’s why it’s him here and not Dr. Wexley—that was his name. Dr. Wexley.
But instead of getting to her feet and tossing her hair and saying he was cruel for playing with her heart like this, all she does is ask, blankly, “So...Ben Solo is my soulmate? Our new president is my…”
She swallows.
And Dr. Dameron nods.
