“What’s—I mean, what’s wrong with him? He’s never been like this, Vaggi, I’m—” Charlie’s hands were shaking as she held Lucifer’s face. “He doesn’t get hurt. Not like this.”
She’d always been told he couldn’t die—she knew he couldn’t, and she’d scarcely seen him with as much as a flu over the years. She was almost inclined to believe this was Lucifer’s newest attempt at some kind of humor, since as little as it made sense, it still made more sense to believe that this was a poor-tasting joke than to believe that her father—the King of Hell—had gotten injured.
A story in three arcs: what happened to him, how they reacted, and how he recovered.
