Summary
Behind the eerie calmness, behind the reckless arrogance, there was vulnerability. Aventurine longed for death, for release from the horrors and deals he's had to make. Beyond that, though, Ratio almost felt like the man was longing for hope.
Even if that flicker of hope exists within Aventurine, it is obvious he intends to destroy it. The gambler will endlessly pursue higher and higher stakes until finally one of them takes his life. He said that he would be the final victor, but Ratio can only assume that he will only consider himself victorious once he finally dies.
Even if those enamoring and enigmatic eyes permanently remain etched on the inside of his eyelids; even if the ache of having their hands guiding each other to discovery and death perpetually itches his skin; he knows when the risks are too high to justify the pursuit. Dr. Veritas Ratio doesn't gamble, he only takes calculated risks, even if right now he really wants to.
-
Aventurine tries to throw away his life; Ratio tries to not fall in love with a man who yearns for death. Aventurine eventually learns to love himself and to love and be loved; Ratio learns that logic is not truth and that emotions are not a vulnerability.

Summary
After reading the absolute shitshow that was “All the Sad Tales”, Kakavasha dies in a no good, very embarrassing way but that’s not too important. What is, however, very, very interesting is that he has woken up as Lord Aventurine from the book that inadvertently killed him. It only takes a bit (after a lot of trying not to think about the Situation) to decide that he will be stealing Lord Aventurine’s husband, Veritas of Amphoreus. It wasn’t like the dead could complain. And if that ghost could, he wouldn’t even care — he absolutely fumbled when it came to his husband!
Well as the saying goes, another man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Summary
---
"Professor~" the voice sang again.
No. Absolutely not. Ratio did not even take a step away from the board nor did he turn to face the source of his perplexity. He has not perceived it with all his senses, thus it did not exist.
"Oh, don't be a child, you don't even have that bust on. You can hear me." the man hissed with annoyance, the clicks of his heels echoing around the empty hall. He was approaching. Rapidly. "Ratio."
"What-" the Doctor finally turned back...
And they stared at one another. For the first time in 3 months, 7 days and 29 minutes. Ratio's mind went blank again, this time as a flight instinct. As long as his perception was clouded he needn't acknowledge the man, the buzzing fly, the pebble in a shoe, the clamorous peacock. How he learnt to cut off all outside noise and hide away in the mind palace he prepared, even without his bust, was truly mature. There he could sit in a grand bathtub, covered by rubber ducks and books, and salts, and... He was back.
---
Aventurine and Ratio broke up peacefully and are trying their best not to come back to one another. Good luck!

Summary
“Math?” And a published academic journal, at that?
“Yes.” Ratio returns the book to his bag, carrying on, but Aventurine’s stuck on the fact that this is apparently what he does in his free time outside of composing music.
“…I thought you were a pianist.”
“I am a pianist.”
“But– math?” Even Aventurine doesn’t spend that much time thinking about math, and he spends twelve hours a day staring at financial models.
“Does it not occur to you that it's possible to have more than one interest?”
Aventurine lives the same week on repeat: eighty hours of his soul-sucking high finance job, then two nights of dancing off the stress to the beat of his favorite anonymous DJ. His move into a luxury apartment building brings him next door to Ratio, an esteemed classical composer with a love for piano. Eager to make a good impression, Aventurine keeps his clubbing habit under wraps — but he’s not the only one hiding secrets under strobe lights.
