    Jax looks at her blankly, expression disturbingly unreadable.

     

    “… Okay.”

     

    “..Okay..?” Ragatha repeats in question.

     

    “Okay,” Jax sighs again, allowing his knees to fall away from his chest. “You can.. help me. Do whatever you want.”

    “You’re probably right,” she agreed, voice still sounding so… so… “I’ll probably forget all about it. In the morning.”
    Jax nodded in turn. Slowly. Everything was going so slowly.
    “You probably should.”

    Or: Ragatha has a nightmare and Jax has to comfort her so she won't lose her mind. That's the only reason he's comforting her. No other reason...
