Summary
The third story arc of the Were-bun series of stories.
Nick has become a full member of the clan and is starting to settle into his new roles as Judy's Beta and the Hopps Clan Omega. There's a lot to learn & more to adapt to as his new status carries rules, roles, & responsibilities, alongside a lot of exposed fur and challenging were-bun customs. Whatever Nick though he was getting into, the reality is very different from his expectations and the Hopps Clan is not the only one watching.

Overcoming what others think of you is hard enough, overcoming what you think of yourself can be far worse. After a traumatic childhood incident leads Nick to withdraw into himself, he and his mother move to Bunnyburrow to seek professional help.
Whatever he needs, Nick could really use a friend.

“A Rabbit for a Friend”
After the scouts incident, Nick goes mute. His mom takes him to see a psychiatrist, Ruth Hopps. Things seem to be going well, until he has an altercation with Judy in the waiting room. Judy is seeing Ruth for her trauma from being scarred by Gideon. Judy had seen Nick holding a bunny toy in his mouth and had an episode that scared off Nick. When she calms down, Judy sees that the bunny toy isn’t actually hurt and feels guilty, after Ruth helps her understand that Nick had been hurt similarly to her. Ruth encourages Judy to mend (make better, not fix) Nick’s painting that she had torn during her episode.

It's mating season for canids and the precinct is tired of Nick and Judy dancing around their feelings for one-another. Bogo, Fru-Fru, Bonnie, Jessica, Viviean, Jack, and Skye team up to get the two to confess their feelings. Meanwhile, Wolford and Fangmeyer (tigress) sense that something big is going on, but end up revealing their own feelings.
