Trigger just wanted to fly for Spare Squadron until he would be allowed to transfer out. Easier said than done when everyone who left did so in a body bag. But as long as he kept his head down and did his job, he will leave eventually. When what was supposed to be a simple move to a new airfield goes horribly wrong, he finds himself lost in a city not far from what he used to years ago call home. While dropping into Zootopia with Count wasn't the worst thing in the world, how was he supposed to explain to the Zootopia locals what those three lines on his ID were? Or why his and Count's actual names were state secrets? Or that other thing about those three lines that he really didn't want them to find out about.
Perhaps ejecting over hostile territory would have been better after all.

Companion expansion to the story "Three Strikes" (Story number 13225250) posted on ff.net in 2019 and updated over 5 years through 2024. Crossover between Ace Combat 7 and Zootopia, with this story focusing on Trigger's point of view starting before, during, and after what was covered in the original FFnet story.

After a particularly stressful case with a rather jarring conclusion, Nick Wilde shuts down. Forced to take time off, Nick departs from his partner without so much as a 'See ya around, Carrots'. Texts go unaddressed, calls go unanswered. Days turn into a week, a week turns into two and Judy Hopps has reached her emotional limit. She misses him, way more than she would have ever expected herself to. So much, it hurts. If he won't come to her or at least text her back, she'll just have to go to him. He DID say the spare key was for emergencies...
A tale of hurting, trauma, and a bunny's best efforts to overcome the emotional catatonia to do what she can to help him come back; not just to come back, but come back to HER.

In the stories of mammalian history there are many threads that weave one life to another. Though trivial they may seem, if pulled from the tapestry the tear would rip the fabric of history. In the present era so many lives have been touched by such small threads as these. So many stories woven together by a common seamstress who bore three daughters— very uncommon daughters. As mammal species go they are among the least consequential but due to their strength, tenacity, boundless spirit for adventure and love of righteousness, love of life, and love of family — their touch on the tapestry of so many lives would forever be sewn into history.
This is not uniquely their own story but also how their story sewn into the story of mammals they have touched have changed forever. In the tapestry of time there is evidence of patches and tears sown together. Ripples so traumatizing. Yet even in the repair the woven thread becomes part of the beauty and strength of the entire story of the tapestry around it. This is such a time, and such a story. A thread that binds… a story that had to be told… the story of the Sisters Hopps… Drama, Humor, and of course Love... there has to be love.
