Summary
Buck had always been told he was special. Well, he was told that by his Grandma- no one else seemed to really care he existed.
“You were kissed by an angel,” she would always say, “This mark shows how special you are. You are meant to do great things.”
He wasn’t sure that being special was a good thing. Everyone on his mom’s side of the family seemed to be special in the same way- they could all see ghosts. His mom pretended they couldn’t, but his grandma took him and Maddie under her wing to teach them everything she knew about the other side.

“Evan, I’m not sure that’s a good idea,” Tommy said.

Summary
He dismounted and tied the horse to a nearby tree branch and gave her a few treats before approaching the giant door of the castle.
He tried knocking, but the door opened under his fist.
“Hello?” Buck called as he walked inside, “I’m just looking for my sister. I think she may have come in here?”
The hearth in the foyer lit up suddenly and Buck jumped back. He looked around, but there was no one else around.
“Hello?” Buck asked again. Even though it seemed like he was alone, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched.
“I think he may be the one,” a whispered voice said.
“You said that about the girl,” another voice whispered, “He doesn’t even like girls.”
“Who’s there?” Buck asked, “Can you help me? Was the girl’s name Maddie?”
There was no response. He grabbed a candle from the hearth’s mantle place and started walking further into the castle.Bookmarked by Lore89
