Summary
Pete doesn’t have anyone waiting on him, no one sobbing on the sidelines of the finish line, screaming for him to keep walking. If he spends his last moments saving Ray Garraty, that would be a damn good end.
But he fucks up. He lets Ray pick him back up. Like he said, he could never deny the man a thing. Ray's voice breaking as he begs Pete to get back up is impossible to resist, even if it’s to save his life. Ray isn’t ready for it all to be over yet. That’s okay, Pete can walk with him just a little further.
He’s smiling to himself, shaking his head at Ray’s stubborn kindness, shoulder tingling with the phantom sensation of Ray squeezing it, when the two shots ring out behind him, echoing off the wet pavement.

or: Pete lives. Ray lives. They're not dying for each other, not today. Not ever, if either of them has a say.

Summary
“Yeah, well,” he looks at an old clock behind Wireface. It’s getting late, and he’d like to sleep before he has to guard the door at night. “You’re free to stay here, if you want. Or not. You don’t know what I’m saying, anyways.”
Wireface nods as if he has any fucking clue what’s going on. It’s cute, in a funny way. “Okay. I’m leaving.” He shortly waves, forcing his gaze off the man and feeling like his feet are made up of ten tons of concrete as he opens the door to go.
“Bahbye!” he hears behind him.

The story of the Protagonist’s relationship with the Foreigner, or how the homeowner was seen as a knight in shining armor for the first time in his life. And how can he resist a hint of love when the world around him has already gone mad and is drawing near its end?
Wireface flirts with the Protagonist, thinking he will never find out about this. But the sun never leaves you a chance to hide for long in the shadows. The outcome is unpredictable.

“Are you not getting fed at home?” George asked, meaning clear.
“Maybe I don’t like his cooking,” Max growled against George’s jugular, letting go of his hair in favour of working his jeans open.

Summary
What begins as a character study of his seasoned, decorated new teammate quickly curdles into obsession when Lance Stroll starts untangling the chronology of Fernando Alonso’s life. It’s pathetic, really – how badly he wants to anchor himself to Fernando’s narrative, to become more than just another pit stop in his restless teammate’s career.
Despite the marriages and the parade of high-profile relationships, Fernando Alonso has never been in love. For a man who lives and breathes racing, both on and off the track, he’s always taken this as a feature, not a flaw. Yet there’s something disarmingly intimate about Lance’s insistence on combing through his life, as though the act itself could stitch him into it.
