Summary
First impressions are often wrong. It was true for everyone, and Porsche had come to realize that it applied twice as much to the Theerapanyakuls. He couldn’t quite pinpoint why or how. Maybe it was some congenital inability not to be an ass to strangers, or maybe it was just their education. Either way Porsche had learnt not to give first glances too much credit. Weird as they were, this family was now his family, and if he had to hate them a little before he could love them, then so be it. They were an… Acquired taste, much like coffee and cigarettes, or even beer. All of them. That’s probably the reason he hadn’t expected much from meeting Kim either.
After all, Tankhun had yelled at him and dressed him up as a goddamn mermaid. Macau had demanded his head on a platter, no figurative device involved. Vegas could have been the exception to the rule with his lavish gifts and disarming honesty, but these too had been deceptive. Even Kinn had been an insufferable spoiled brat, full of himself and impervious to the word “no”. Acquired taste indeed.
Not Kim though. If you’d asked, Porsche would have said that Kim was pretty sweet.

Summary
Kinn and Porsche, heads of the major and minor families respectively, have spent the months since the attempted coup questioning Kim’s loyalty. Kinn is sure that Kim is working for his father in secret, but he has no proof. Porsche agrees but is more concerned about Kim’s relationship with Porchay.
