    Mike just looks at him for a second. Messy hair, bloodshot eyes, still in that stained white t-shirt. His eyes flick just a little lower, to where Will’s arm emerges from the shirt.

    Mike wonders what a younger Will would have thought if he could see himself right now. Strong and unwavering. Nothing like the timid kid he knew before.

    He’s different now Mike thinks, as his eyes rake across Will’s broad shoulders. Stronger physically? Yes. But also in spirit.

    It’s in the way he speaks- unapologetic. In the way he lets his laugh fill up a room now, instead of shrinking back from insecurity. But mostly, it’s in the way he talks to Mike- confident. Like he’s no longer trying to silently apologize for existing in the same space as him.

    Set after Stacy's party, Mike and Will come home, and with the alcohol and adrenaline buzzing through them, they can no longer conceal their true feelings. Everything they've been pushing down comes hurling out; raw and messy.
