Summary
The Cimmerians invited SG-1 back to their planet to aid in peace talks among their people. They'd broken into several factions, unaware that the Asgard had committed mass suicide. SG-1 finds a bomb planted at the peace talks. Sam tries to diffuse it. She doesn't realize the first fuse has a redundancy until it is too late. Teal'c manages to save her, at the cost of his own life, but the first explosion triggers multiple secondary explosions injuring both she and Cameron Mitchell. Sam is permanently disabled from her injuries. As the surviving members of her team guide her through recovery and acceptance of a new way of navigating the world, they all end up healing old wounds and prejudices.
Teal'c is the MCD. No other characters were harmed in the writing of this fic. Well, there's tonnes of harm, but no one dies.
