Summary
“Preciso alimentar os meus gatos. Eles ainda não almoçaram.” Aaron não foi liberado da aula porque se tratava de uma matéria optativa de biologia, e Betsy saía cedo para trabalhar. Podia ter pedido a Nicky, se o primo não estivesse na Alemanha com o noivo.
“Meus filhos.” Andrew tossiu, pressionando as mãos nos ombros de Neil, que apoiou o queixo no abdômen de Andrew para encará-lo com os olhos azuis.
“Meus gatos, Neil. Você não é o pai deles.”
“Eu sou. Eles me adoram. Somos pais de duas crianças.” Teimoso.
Neil rebateu, e Andrew desistiu dele.

Summary
Neil breath hitch. “You like that,” he said, not quite a question. “‘Drew, you like it when I-”
“Fuck, Andrew.” Neil sighed, his mind reeling. He was pretty good at finding Andrew’s tells, at figuring out what he liked, but he must have missed this.
“You can shut up.” Andrew said, eyebrows furrowing in what could be embarrassment or defiance or both.
“I don’t think you want me to.” Neil replied, feeling giddy as he rubbed at Andrew's neck, feeling his rapid pulse beneath his fingers.
“Shut the fuck up.” Andrew said, but his voice was raspy; he sounded nearly breathless, but the words lacked any real bite.
"But you like it," Neil says, carding his hand through Andrew's hair with gentle strokes. "I like that you like it.”
Or: Neil can't stop thinking about Andrew's mouth; they share a cigarette, and Neil discovers that Andrew Minyard enjoys being called "baby" and being praised.

Summary
“Dude, I just asked if you could get my food, not another-“ Matt finally got around to seeing the man on the floor. “What is Aaron doing?”
“I don’t think this is Aaron.” Neil stated. Matt had a transfer sheet ready, dropping to the floor with Neil, carefully sliding the transfer underneath the man.
“Then who do we have?” That was a great question, but he didn’t get there yet with Aaron’s doppelgänger, so Neil just ranted about what he knew.
“Male, mid twenties, possible head trauma,” Neil said quickly. “Unequal pupils, responsive briefly, he felt tachy, then syncopal episode plus a possible fracture of the clavicle.”
Or: Neil is in the second year of his residency, working in the Emergency Room. Today was just like any other until a man who looked extremely like an asshole co-worker of his decided to pass out in the waiting room.

Summary
“It has more to do with you in addition to how big you are, it isn’t purely because you’re bigger than me.”
Jean tilts his head, staring Jeremy down in a way that makes him clench his hands into the fabric of his sweatpants.
“Like, yes, I like that you could throw me around. But I like that despite how easily you could throw me around, you don’t, because it could hurt me. You know that you’re bigger than me… and that–” Jeremy licks his lips, trying to find any trace of Jean still left on his lips.
“I can’t tell you the amount of times you’ve done something, and all I was thinking about was how much harder you could do it.” Jeremy whispers, watching the way Jean’s chest is rising faster and faster with each word.
“Every single time you’ve ever put your hands on me, it’s been ten times less hard than I know you could. You’re gentle with me, even when I know you don’t have to be, and I fucking love that.”
~~
or; jean is purposefully ignoring his chronic pain, and jeremy fixes that with his hands... in more ways than one.

Summary
“Do not go back to them.” Jean breathed, quiet yet unwavering.
Jeremy smiled humourlessly. “I wish it were that easy.”
Jean’s hand on his chin shouldn’t have startled him—he should be used to the sensation by now—but it was possible he was more out of it than he realized.
“I do not want anyone ever hurting you. Not when you are this insistent on hurting yourself.”
When Jeremy returns to their hotel room after hooking up with Faser, he’s bordering on an anxious break. Jean suggests he take a bath to relax, helping him destress while asking about Jeremy’s past. Their feelings for each other become harder to suppress as the night goes on, and worn down by the weight of his mistakes, Jeremy stops denying what a good thing him and Jean and their love could be.
