Summary
His gut told him this case was probably Scarecrow adjacent. When Jason had insisted on going with him he had told him it wasn't a great idea tonight, but Jason pushed and Bruce longed for his gut to be wrong, for this case to be someone who posed a lower threat. Someone like Poison Ivy or Mr. Freeze who in most cases kept to themselves unless interrupted, someone who's motivations were mostly pure, but people got in the way.
But the Scarecrow... Scarecrow was different.
He wanted to hurt people. It was his driving passion. Batman had dealt with Crane enough to understand his methods, he knew how to deal with the toxins, whether that be with a mask, or pure willpower. Bruce wasn't afraid of much, Scarecrow could dredge up some of his deepest fears but even then he could resist the urge to cower.
Jason had never dealt with Scarecrow before.
