Eddie starts to panic, his breath short. He gets up, quickly dressing, grabbing his inhaler from the nightstand.
"Listen, stay. Okay? Let’s sleep together? We’ll talk in the morning?"
"Morning means five AM? When I have to climb down that fucking drainpipe to avoid pissing off that control-freak whale you call a mother?"
"Don’t talk shit about my mom, asshole!"

Eddie inhales from his inhaler and then shrugs.

This story follows the love between 17-year-old Eddie and Richie as they navigate growing up in Derry in the 1990s. In a small town where a love between two boys is met with resistance, they face bullying, trauma, and the brutal violence inflicted by the Bowers gang. Richie is brutally assaulted and raped, and he never tells Eddie. The two eventually part ways. But despite the pain and hardship, they will find each other again...
