But he had also lived days where he was on the brink of death but lived on—the medicine a single thread tethering his life, a single thread of Dijun’s (Rex Lapis) grace holding onto his corrupted soul, it seemed as if he closed his eyes he would stop breathing and yet always he would see the second day’s sunlight. He could not understand, he could not fathom, Xiao lived for so long but he was only surviving, and didn’t learn anything from the time he had so much of.”

Summary

A Xiao character exploration and growth fic, mostly centered around his developing relationship with Lumine, but Venti has a larger part to play than is first evident, and Morax is ever watching from afar.
