Furina sighed, her fingers trembling as she held the letter. Its cold, direct message felt heavier than ever. Not even the cake beside her could stir her appetite. The forced smile she'd worn for weeks faded as she read the words, and doubt took root in her mind.
"Request to become the representative of Fontaine."
If her life was fine — a lie — if she was fine — more lies — why did something so familiar return to torment her again? Hypnotized, she stared at it once more, as if the words could give answers she knew didn’t exist.

In Natlan, Mavuika sat surrounded by papers, frustration boiling over. After their victory against the Abyss, she had hoped, naively, that her people could finally rest, that their troubles would fade. But peace was elusive. The scars of war ran deeper than she had imagined.

Her people's suffering, the constant fight against the aftermath of war, seemed endless. The hope she once held quickly faded.

Summary
Kafka's lips quirked, not quite a smile, not quite a smirk, something in between that sent a shiver crawling up Stelle’s spine, from the very first time. “You’re not as good at hiding what you feel as you think you are.”
Stelle blinked, tilted her head just a little, like a curious pup trying to catch the nuance in Kafka’s words.
“Your eyes,” she explained, lifting a finger and tapping the air gently, like painting the thought. “Quite the betrayers, really. Dazzling, and so tragically honest.”
A flash of teeth behind pink lips, “A bit too lovely to lie properly with.”
That earned a quiet hum from Stelle, her mouth quirking in a half-smile that was all mischief. “Alright then. What am I thinking?”
Kafka’s answer was velvet-smooth, delayed solely by the tongue playing at her bottom lip, drawing Stelle’s gaze without a hint of hesitation. “You want to kiss me.”
Stelle’s laugh was soft, barely more than a breath. “Well, yeah,” she said, grinning now, “but that’s easy. I always want to kiss you.”
