So, with the sun as his only witness, Izuku wiped his tears once more and took a deep breath. He took his school ID from around his neck with shaking hands, and he dug his wallet out of his pocket to throw it on top, hoping they would at least be able to identify him that way afterward. He followed the path that All Might had taken, all the way to the ledge, and stopped. The wind nearly blew him back from so high up, but Izuku stood firm. Just like All-Might, he thought to himself. He bent his legs, and he jumped.

Summary
Izuku was chosen for his lack of quirk. Aizawa was chosen for his quirk’s usefulness as it pertained to the mission. Both were scanned and vetted meticulously, followed for a minimum of one month (Izuku) and a maximum of three (Aizawa; it took much longer due to his pro-hero status).
Kidnapped and subjected to experimentation, torture, and horrors beyond comprehension, Izuku and Aizawa only have each other.
